not usually... take everything off that you can and sell it for add-on funds for the new ride.

Dealers here in Ohio tend to give pennies on the dollar for addons

Thanks for the input D. Man that Street Glide just fits me perfect. Almost like they used me when they built it. What a ride!!! Just test drove it. Handlebars are perfect. Seat height perfect. Everything!!!! Arghhhh!!!! Now just need the perfect price......wait, wait....need to try the Road Glide first. Need to slow down and do this right. I have my Super Glide so it's not like I have nothing. Sorry...trying to rationalize.

When you are doing a trade-in you are paying a premium for the convenience of not having to deal with selling your current ride privately and getting everything done on the spot. If you are willing to pay the premium, and it sounds like you are, go for it! But that doesn't mean that you have to take any lowball offer, everything is negotiable just be realistic.

Some very good advice from pontiac69.
I too traded when I bought my RG. I had a number ($5K) that I was willing to pay. Worked every dealer in a 150 mile radius. I was unsure if I was gonna get a RG or a SG. I ended up renting both bikes for a weekend apiece before I decided on the RG. I also removed every accessory I bought that could be removed
When I walked into a dealer I had my checkbook and title to my 06 RK. Nobody had an Mirage Orange RG w/ABS, so the bike had to be ordered.
Just remember one thing hd2012, you have the economy on your side, theres alot of tire kickin but fewer peeps throwing down the coins to walk out with a new scoot.

The day of my trade
And yeah, I got a thing for Bassani exhaust
What exhaust did you say is on the RKC in the pic?
