Loud Slip-Ons

Loud Slip-Ons
Looking for a bad a$$ sounding slip-on muffler. I have V&H 4'' Twin Slash Rounds on my EGC, but looking for something with more bark. I'd like to get a slip-on that sounds similar to a V&H Pro Pipe (leaving the cat. converter in place) without going through the expense of the air cleaner, tuner, exhaust system and dyno. Is that even possible?
Your thoughts on loud slip-ons, please. Thanks

the cat is chewing up much of the sound.
that is why many of the "compliant" 2010 + slip ons are not legal for 2009 and earlier bikes.
the cat is your enemy.
If you open up the exhaust ( remove the cat or change the header pipes) but leave the stock air cleaner in place then you would not have to worry about tuning------- but------
if you also get a hi flow air cleaner you will get 7 to 10 horsepower AND the tuning does affect the tone of the exhaust.
I use the ness big sucker air cleaner- $120 ( ebay: easternpc)
and nightrider.com XIEDS will cost under $130 ( Steve has been running deals lately and offers Mil. discount)
It doesn't have to cost $2000 for a stage 1 ... that's for the guys who drop their bike at the dealer and open the wallet and close their eyes.
