I bought a new airhawk big seat in stugis. After a couple of hours in the seat had my rear end sore. We split the ride home into two days, the second day was no better. My question to those of you that have the airhawk seat is how comfortable is it for you and is there a break in period for this seat. I really want to like it as I love the way it sits and looks. So how do you like yours ?
And I thought I was the only rider to ever experience the dreaded butt pains...I rode with the "beads" on my seat it helped for a bit but then the pain came back....i just wish someone had the sense to come out with a seat that was "contoured to the riders's butt" made of soft memory foam. SOoooo many manufacturers and no one has an idea of how to get rid of the pain....

Reads like you have the answers. When ya gonna tool up and start selling the perfect seat?
This is my second serious sore butt, the first was a trip to vegas last year on the stock seat. Funny thing is I rode my deuce the year before and was fine. I know there are other people using this seat, as I searched the forum for reviews, so come on let me know how you like it !!!!
I rode to Sturgis in 2 days frm Dallas, 600 miles whole there and back in two days more. I estaimate About 70 hours total. I have a sheepskin and airhawk R bought for the trip just in case. I started getting a 'hot spot' on my rear about 10 hours in so the airhawk spent rest of the trip in luggage. Adjusted air for ride back... Same problem.
no probs at all w seat/butt but met another guy who HATED his stock seat. Very individualized, apparently.
You guys are using too much air. Lower it till your just hovering over your seat. You might try starting out your trip without the Airhawk and switch to it after you get saddle sore. And remember its not a miracle worker. 10 hours is gonna push any seat. I've gone 12 hrs coming up from Daytona and know I never could have done it with out my Airhawk.

Dig my airhawk R, 05 Ultra is correct...drop air to the point that you're not bottoming out, but you can move smoothly laterally...and not much past that. I have very little air in mine and love it. I haven't taken an unusually long trip yet, but it does seem to double my seat time, as of this point, I have not had sore butt one.
I bought the Air hawk2 a month ago and love it. I have07 ultra and have logged over13000 miles this summer. Stock seat. I would like to find a seat but just can't afford it right now. The Air hawk2 is the answer for now.
Stock 2011 Street Glide seat. After about an hour my *** would hurt. In Strugis, bought a Kuryakyn sheepskin pad and just did 1800 miles in the past 2 days. I feel great! Never had a sore *** the whole way!
I just recieved my Airhawk Solo with the back rest. A little pricey but very good quality.
I did question that only the surfaces with the stitching are leather the surronds are vinyl?
I havent went more then a couple hours in mine. So far so good.
