Hello, how much top end noise should I expect from my bike,2006 RK,? What can be done to silence what sounds like either the valve train or injectors?I've had the machine serviced at the dealer, and had them install the pipes, sert and AC.Nobody said anything unusual is going on.Common on these machines or can it be toned down?
This is one of those things that the TC88 is known for. I'v e noticed it was loud on my 05 softail, but not as bad on the street glide.
Most bagger owners notice it more because it bounces off the fairirng back at you. For thought though, I've found that the 95" kit and pipes significantly decreases the noise .
I noticed it right away on 06' Ultra, first service I was sure they were gonna say $hit was wrong, but said all was normal. Got Rinehart tds, sert, se/ac, dyno and still sounds like hell, really bad around 2500 rpm, had comp nut adjusted, same. Guess its the nature of the beast although I cant believe that it would not be bad and the life expectancy of this engine wont be long.
I am not a wrench but I have heard it is mostly pushrod noise. Going to adjustable pushrods helps some.Mine was driving me nuts before the motor redo. Now I don't hear any top end noise and they used adjustable pushrods.

About the only thing that can be done is turn it off! Its a Harley Davidson nota beemer!
With my radio cranked up LOUD at 80 mph, I can still hear my valve noise. If the sugestion to put adj. pushrods in will help, I,ll do it. Please let me know. thanks.
