I have a 2011 street glide. I installed a Arc Audio Mini 125.2 w/ 6.5 JL's about 1 year ago still running the stock head unit, and to tell you the truth I wasn't that impressed at all. Yes I could tell there was a amp but really felt maybe I should have saved my money. Well I figured it is what it is and just rode with it. In the last month my stock head unit started going bad and last week nothing. So I went and bought a Sony deck and WOW!!! That's what I was missing. HUGE difference!
So the lesson is if you have an amp and aftermarket speakers and really aren't impressed, go buy an aftermarket stereo. It makes a HUGE difference.

Sony 310btx and yes hawg wired kit. Very easy, all plug and play. The kit cost more than the deck but worth it. Handlebar controls also work. I would definitely recommend.
Can you easily work the iPod thru existing thumb controls?
Meaning: Do the same stock actions replicate on this unit? (Mode/bass/treble/AVC etc..?)
ALso: Ipod questions:
1. Does it pick up where you left off? The stock unit seems to default to the top of the list every time (ugh)
2. Is there an affirmitive choice (button push?) to select a song/playlist ?
(The stock unit has you merely "hover" over what you want and then wait...while it decides to play it...) I hate that.
You have me interested! Thanks! Cool how it stores the ipod in there!
