Default Tour pack pad shaking?

Can anything be done about the amount of shaking /movement of the tourpack pad? Seems like alot of shaking going on back there, not talking about at idle, more like slower speeds and hitting some bumps. Has anyone removed the pad and have pictures with it removed?
Thanks
Steve in Ct

It is? Only on the quick-release kits maybe?

Whatever, every tourpack shakes to some degree. Mine's 12 years old and it's still back there.

Not so much the tourpack but the backrest, i'm afraid it will cause problems with the tourpack itself??

the back rest is rubber mounted, i had mine apart for the same thing. mine shook so bad it took a rubber weather strip the kind used for autos, trimmed it down and put it under the back rest and the top of the tourpack. it don't shake no more. mine was so bad and loud you could hear it thumping on top the toupak. it still shakes a little but now it hits the stripping instead of the top of the tourpak.

How are the mounts for the tour park themselves, does the tour park move within the mounting brackets, this will cause extra shake/movement of the pad, may be time to replace the bushings.....

A better then stock option from a member here

I removed the backrest and put 2-zip ties (drawn tight) around the longitude axis of the rubber grommets (3). It seemed to firm up the play that the grommets have. Also the bracket that holds the center grommet to the plastic backing of the pad was starting to wear through the plastic because when they manufactured the part they left a 90-degree angle that rubbed on the plastic (leading to water damage eventually) - I cut it at a 45-degree angle to prevent futher damage.

There was a bad batch of isolators a while back. Look to see if the rubber separated from the metal on any of them.
