Rode with another couple last week in a light rain. They had a Ultra Classic with no baffle and I have the baffle on my Ultra Limited. He was getting a misty spray from the rain up from the tank frontal area and I was not with the baffle. Good enough reason for me to have it.

I've got one on my Ultra. It completed eliminated the fifth gear clatter, engine pinging and the Harley death wobble; not to mention I have a 10% increase in horsepower and get ten more miles to the gallon. Great product!

They both help a little bit imho. Those along with a properly fit windshield is the answer.

I had one on my old bike. Tried out a new one and thought where is all that air coming from. Looked and no baffle. So I trade about two weeks ago and the baffle went with me. Make a lot of difference I think.

+1 on that. It's a considerable help when the temp gets below freezing.

Since the baffle was relatively inexpensive by HD standards, it offers a lot of bang for the buck. It definitely reduced some of my buffeting.

It's ridiculous to think it will harm the engine with one.

My '06 parts manual states to take it off in warm weather, to help cool the RIDER, by evacuating hot air from around the heads. I would rather leave it on and have air deflected down onto the front cylinder for cooling.

Wasn't it in '07 Harley added the ugly heat deflectors under the seat to protect the rider from ever increasing temps on EPA engines? I believe Harley quit having the fork baffle as standard equipment because of the ever increasing complaints of hot riders.

I can tell you assuredly the fork baffle stops my glasses from bouncing on my nose, and my mustache tails from flying up.

And it's an extra item to sell and one less to install.

Note my oil temps on a 90+ degree day once stopped. 207 degrees.
