Some of you guys may be getting fuglyitis
and may need professional help...
My late Great Uncle used to say you can't trust a man with his eyes too close together. When I see a Fugly I am reminded of this.
They look like something Lee Corsa would ride...
tell you what. you ride this and your buddy ride a street glide and go to a local bike night. see which bike gets more attention. yeah, this thing is ugly, but it's got the whole nostalgia/old thing going for it. bet the owner has no trouble finding it in a sea of streetglides.

Not a bad Idea at all with changing the headlight.......Change is good. I test rode recently and just bought a used 09 CVO Road Glide. Not sure that I can say I like it as much as the 2012 I road tested. I am 6 feet 4 and the CVO has a Klock works short windshield. The wind blows me away. Dont get me wrong my dresser has a short winshield as well but no worries with it and sucking wind is what it is all about, but this new wind experience is crazy. The ride of the Road glide is off the hook but I find if I lean down a few inches the ride inproves 100%. Guess I will be experimenting not only with a few windshields, but raising the seat as well as my long legs adjust. It does light up the road at night with the dual lights as weird as they look. Good luck on grabbing that 2011 CVO
I couldn't read through all the comments....but I hope someone had put: "If I have to explain, you wouldn't understand." I ride a bat wing...so I know that FUGLY is in the eye of the rider.
(Besides, the only ugly I see when I am riding is the next person.)
chuck
Double lights up front do not mean better lighting, lots of guys bitch about RG lights. On mine, brights are great, dim ain't worth a sh**. Adj all the way up no change. Still not happy..
I was recently on a 3000 mile trip with my brother and friend. On the trip we stopped at several HD Dealers. While in Dothan AL I had the chance to ride a Road Glide, while my bike was being serviced. I had always heard that the fugly was the best riding bike but I could never get past the dual headlights and frame mounted fairing (dual headlights is my biggest issue). I have to say, as all Rode Glide owners know, the ride is incredible, almost weird. Anyhow. The bike I rode was a 11 CVO and I want it, and hope to make it happen.
I guess my question is this. Why doesn't Harley redefine the fugly with a single headlight? It seems to me that it would make at least feel better about buying it. My next question is, why hasn't an after market company made a new fairing for the fugly to overcome this mental issue.
Understand, I'm just spit balling here. Was riding my SG today and had time to think and this is what I thought about. What say you
Nothing they could do could possibly make that bike look any better. Everything's a tradeoff.
If ya like it more than your current ride, then get one if you can afford it. Screw the looks.
Doesn't bother me that so many people don't like the way the RG looks, just kind of hard for me to believe, because every time lately that I go to the dealer I see several SG's and EG's that were there on the last visit, but all the RG's are gone. Maybe they're so ugly that the dealer is dumping them?
Plausible enough. Back in the day of 1940's era a car company made a car with head lights that tracked the road, I think there were three headlights left, right, and center.
That was the Tucker. Lots of good ideas in that car.
Harley Davidson Of Dothan. I bought my bike there. They are a GREAT bunch of guys. Dutch, the owner and his staff are terrific.
Good luck on your pending purchase, I know they will treat you right.
Thanks for the reply. I was there cause my SG had a throttle issue. Man, they are awesome, every one of them. Its the kind of dealer I wish I had in my area. I hope I can work it out and get the bike from them. Seems like the price is on par.....now, how will they treat me on the 09 SG.
