Default SERT,PCIII?

Too many letters no enough words. I read about people swearing by these and other upgrades I would like to know what they are talking about. Slip ons? Really? Help! Stage 1?

Default RE: SERT,PCIII?

Are you asking what they all mean? SERT is Screamin' Eagle Race Tuner and PCIII is Dynojet's Power Commander. Both are fuel management systems thatare used to map or change the ECM on fuel injected bikes (carbs would be rejetted) This has to be done to accomodate changes made to the bike such as exhaust, cams, etc. PCIII attaches to the ECM and stays there, SERT gets hooked up and then taken off once the bike is mapped. SERT is about $100 more than the PCIII but can be tweaked a little more than the PCIII. Slip ons are mufflers, Stage 1 generally consists of slip ons, high perf A/C and fuel management. Yes they really do make a difference. Kinda like eating one potato chip....you'll want more after

It will make a huge difference in the performance in your '07 bagger. I recently placed a PCIII, Screamin' Eagle Air Cleaner and Rush slip-ons on mine and it really improved the power and responsiveness. These bikes come very lean from the factory because of EPA requirements. Adding these items will make your engine very happy!

You can also use the forum's 'search' feature to find out more about each of these items. There is a lot of excellent reading on this site.

Welcome to the forum and ride safe,

A good tunner will tell you that a SERT will give you a better tune than a pcIII but if you do not want to pay the $300 for a tuner then stick to the pcIII

If your dealer has a dyno, the SERT will give you a more precise and effective fuel map. But I was just looking for the engine to run better and cooler, so the deciding factor for me was that the PCIII was a do-it-myself job without the need of paying for installation or dyno time to tune it (ie also cheaper). If money isn't a factor, go to your dealership and have the SERT done.
