Default Shifter peg problem

I'm trying to change my shifter pegs to the steamliner type, only problem is I can't get the stock pegs off. I tried grabbing them with channel locks and twisting but they wouldn't break free. What is the proper way to take them off?

They use loctite from the factory. Use vice grips. Sometimes they come off easy ... sometimes not. Worse case ... you tear the rubber up. Use some blue thread lock when you put the new one(s) back on.

That was one of the first mods I did, Oct. 05. As I recall it was a PITA to get them off. Pry them off with vise grips.

I used a heat gun, heat the pegs thread and came off really easy.

Just did mine a couple weeks ago. I twisted them off by hand. Guess I was lucky mine weren't so hard to get off.

Yep, you generally have to heat them.

Vice grips and a beer should be all you need.
