I know, another one of these posts, but, here goes. I have a Ducati sport bime and an 09 Sporty 1200c. Bought the sporty to see if i really enjoyed owning and riding a Harley after a lifetime on sportbikes. YES! So, I just sold the Duc and want to sell the sporty and get one nice HD. Local dealer has an 08 Street Glide with 13,000 ish miles for 14k and change. Bike is very nice. Seems like a good deal to me. Any reason to avoid that particular year? Thanks.
Not in my opinion. I have one and couldn't be happier with it. I don't think the price is bad either.
My one "complaint" would be engine vibration at idle - there's a lot. I changed out the front motor mount with one from Glide-Pro and the difference was huge. Not perfect, but at least now I can see out of my rear view mirrors at idle. I plan on doing the rest of the Glide-Pro system this winter, which should basically eliminate it. There are other mounts available that they say will do the same thing and it's possible that it was already done to "your" bike - just check with the seller/dealer.
I guess another "complaint" is that there is SOOO much cool stuff out there that you can buy for it! But, if your wallet can afford it, that's a good thing.
Good luck and let us know if/when you get it!

I also have an 2008 FLHX and I love the bike! No issues whatsoever. 22000 miles and no issues. I did the motor to 103 with cams and it runs great! I would buy the same bike again without reservation. Good luck with your decision. Also the price sounds pretty decent as well. Ride safe guys and gals.
That was my thread earlier about the 08 flhx and I know what ya mean cause all my local dealers told me to go to an 09' and newer because of the new frame!! Well fast forward I'm going new for around 5k more and a Road Glide. BTW where you located at in Ohio. I'm in Deshler...

Im between Defiance and Bryan. The dealer I was looking at is Ben Breece in Ottawa. Looks like their new dealership is gonna be nice.
