I have an 08 FLHX and no problems here except the radio. Price doesn't sound bad either. Good luck whatever you buy. Just a thought if you can find a 09 at a great price you would be getting the new frame and wider rear tire.

I've got an 08 SG Crimson Red Sunglow. Love it, Done WAY more in cosmetics to it than I need to admit. I heard the same thing, wait on the 09's. Just get a Bagger Brace and your frame will ride like a sports bike. Grooved Pavement warning signs don't bother me...its solid. Probably could use a bit more tork and a nice WATER COOLING SYSTEM but not until Willi G dies. I guess that all those automotive and other moto companies are wrong...But hey, if you could buy a 1940 Harley, it would be air cooled too... there ya go. 08's are great, if yours is after March 08 then you gor the fuel pump upgrade and you don't have to worry about the recall. If you get an 08, you don't have to worry about the exhaust system cooking your rear break switch due to rerouting the pipe...duh...and to cool it down just add XIED's and she purrs like a kitten at a cooler temp on each jug. ISit is perfect? nope, but it seems to be more perfect than a 07 and 09 and above...Catalytic converters are a bit hot to hold between your legs...another subject altogether.
