I have an '06 Street glide. Switched to Redline Transmission oil about a month ago. The bike has been running great and shifting through all gears and into neutral while stopped has been a dream.
All of a sudden it's gotten really difficult to shift into neutral when stopped. Anybody have any ideas about what is going on? thanks.
Check the level of the primary fluid. My guess is that it's gotten low. Or maybe the clutch cable has stretched and needs adjusted a little tighter.
You could try leaning the bike to the left a little, or give it a little gas and let the clutch out until it starts to grab, then pull it in again and try shifting into neutral while the revs are coming back down.
Usually I find the primary a little low when it happens to me.
yes, the primary fluid was low. That fixed the problem. Have no idea how it got low, no leaks I know of. I'm guessing the low fluid affected clutch operation, that is why the 1st to N problem. Am I correct in that? thanks for info.
