Neutral is almost impossible to find. Can only get her into Neutral after I kill the engine. With the engine running, good luck. Pretty annoying when at a stop light.
I use regular HD Primary oil in the primary (havent tried ATF).
Had brand new Barnetts Clutch plates fitted, and also a brand new clutch cable
Sometimes when Im shifting an extra hard and fast pull on the clutch lever is required to get her from 1st into 2nd. All gears from there on are fine.
Clutch has also been adjusted with different levels of play, and nothing seems to work
Did you adjust the primary chain shoe while you were in there? A tight primary chain will put the clutch hub in a bind and not disengage freely when you pulll in on the clutch lever making it hard to find neutral.
Keep slight pressure upwards on the shifter and small blip of the throttle will time the gears, falls into neutral, you can catch it on the up in rpms or back down or put a Baker in it.
I am like you in that I have never been able to find "N" on any of my Harleys in the last 20 years. That is until I started using Amsoil 20W-50 in all three holes on oil changes and now Neutral is easy.
BTW I never put my bike in neutral at a traffic light. I was told a long time ago "Always be ready to be Gone". You never know what the cages behind you are doing.
