Good luck! I have tried, the only thing that worked for me was going from a 95 build with a 585 cam and 10.5 to 1 compression to a 103 build with 10 to 1 compression and a Andrews 54H. Sure didn't do the rebuild for the sound of the pipes (inner cam bearing decided to come apart and took out the entire motor) but it did result in a less sharp of a bark out the pipes.

Had them on my '07 SG and they are loud. My riding buddy said it was physically painful to ride behind me when I cranked it. I loved the way it sounded, especially at start up, but I understand and I don't think there is a solution for you.

Do a search on "taming the rinehart bark". busij44 did a write up on how he did it.
Wrapping the baffle doesn't work. Tried that on my old bike.

Default Trade?

I'd be happy to trade my V&H Monster Ovals for them! I love the sound of Rineharts...just can't afford them right now.

PM me if interested.

CT, thanks again for the suggestion yesterday on the Fuelpak, it worked out great. As for the muffs... when I bought my 4" Rineharts, that was one of the reasons, the salesman told me the 3.5's were pretty loud. Maybe it'll be easier to just put em up for sale here, take a couple dollar loss and get the 4" ones. I absolutely love mine, the sound is just perfect, just enough to know I'm on a Harley again.. It makes me want to ride my bike more than ever now. Good luck, let us know how you make out..

Love the sound of the 3-1/2's but they don't seem the quiet down at cruise speeds like my 4"stouts. Twist of the throttle they bark. But cruising I just about hear them..
Maybe the 4" Rine's will do the same?

That's funny, I'm trying to make mine louder after the 107 install. What baffles are you using? I'm looking for the 2.5, if that's what you have wanna trade? I currently have the 2.25.
