I just put an 8" black one on my Ultra (I'm 6'-4"). LOVE IT. Man when you hit 60-70 mph you feel the front end nail itself to the ground and the wind scoots right over your head. A word of caution to shorter riders though....when you get the black windshield...IT'S BLACK!! Can't see thru it at all. On a RK it may not be that big of a problem....but with the bat wing you have to scan way ahead for debris because you lose visibility at around 10' from the bike.
I bought one in Laconia this year, had it on my Ultra Classic for 2 days, HATED it. Distorts everything and the rain comes up off the top & hits directly in your face. Don't bother.
.....and if you had to keep one of them which one would you keep and why? I have the Klock Werks 6.5" and considering a 7" Long Ride.
Well, I have an 8.5" tinted KW & 7" dark smoke or tinted LRS. I prefer the LRS because it fits me better(riding height) and I like the darker tint. My wife has not complained since going to a little shorter shield, so I'm sticking with it.
I'm curious about this same thing and know that there are many threads on this topic. Bottom line, I need of find someone or a dealer that has it on a FLHX - (the 8.5 tinted KW). Im 6'1" and buffeting is by no means killing me (I have the HD 7" tinted), but I would like to see how this thing works. I'm also thinking about lowers for speakers and the incremental buffeting benefit, but I live in Houston; this could make a person think twice about summer riding...
