I installed the Fulsac kit on Monday evening. Have to say it was pretty easy, hardest part being getting the mufflers off. Soaked all the bolts, clamps and slip joints with WD-40 penetrating spray, stuff is amazing. After I got the heat shields off, found the Y pipe was cracked all the way across the top and around the weld to the bottom, no damn wonder my *** was cooking. Was going to take the pipe that you use the mandrel in to the muffler shop but it was to late so just sucked it up and used it. Got it all put back together(no left over parts that weren't suppose to be left over), downloaded the new map from Fuel Moto and all is good. Rode it to work yesterday and it seems to run great, no real heat issues, hopefully Momma will be happy. Got a 3 hr trip this Thurs, so will get to see how well it does two up and pulling small trailer. Over all I am a happy guy, and my *** is even happier now that it ain't cooking..
Yes the true dual kit on the Fulsac website it sells for 179.00, I got lucky and got mine off ebay for 125.00. Think I found a small flaw in my installation today, seems I may have not gotten the left side pipe far enough on the rear head pipe, it is sealed fine, just sticks a little farther out from the bike that I think it did before, maybe 3/4 to 1 in out. Will fix when I get back off trip..
We rode from home to Harrison, Ar on Thurs. Went the scenic route(5 hrs)and I am a happy camper, the wife didn't complain one time about her legs getting hot(dressed just like the pic), it was 94 and humid as hell. So for me, the kit was worth what I paid for it, and riding two up and pulling a trailer, the bike still managed to get 42 mpg.
