In regards to your question it can go two ways. LED lights draw significantly less current than an standard bulb. The way standard turn signals work is if one of your bulbs is burned out the turn signal flasher senses the decrease in current draw and causes what we call hyper flash. You have seen cars on the road with a turn signal flashing faster than normal. That is hyper flash. Running LEDs will cause the same thing because of the lower current draw. Now I have run LEDs on just the rear and all was fine because the current draw was not low enough to cause this. Running LEDs in all four corners will cause hyper flash. This is when you need a load equalizer. Basically a load equalizer compensates for the low power draw of LEDs. There are several available but this is the one that I have used for years and highly recommend.
For your 2012 SG you will need a BT801M. It is completely plug n play and requires no cutting or splicing. It plugs inlineat your turn signal harness under your left side cover. And Biketronics also offers a lifetime warranty on all of their products.
Both of these can also be purchased a little cheaper than direct from East Coast Performance.

Hope this helps.
Only thing I would add is that dielectric grease is your friend every time you remove and replace a light bulb or connector. Do this and put those condenstaion worries behind you.
I use the Custom Dynamics and consider them "high end". Yes I needed a load equalizer and theres plugged in line with my wiring harness so no splicing and there was one wire that needed to connect to the positive batter terminal.

That is why I really like the Biketronics Smart Equalizers. No external power is needed.

This too.
Also the older Custom Dynamics clusters were susceptible to moisture on the back circuit boards. A few years ago they started putting a plastic cover over the circuit boards to protect from any affects from moisture.
I would suggest you think about and research the problems with LED turn signals and any hint of moisture getting in the socket.
Second; always carry a "standard" type spare replacement bulb cause you won't find a LED replacement in your typical auto supply shops. Ask me how I know these things.....
Ride In Peace
If you are going to carry a spare, why not carry a spare LED instead of a standard bulb?
Thnks for the replys... i work for a national auto parts store..so the leds come with a life time warranty and they suppose to be the "best" they will cost me 60$ just for the rears..that's at cost!!!! So they better be good...will post pics if they make the cut!!!! holla!!!!!!!
I just installed the full Custom Dynamics kit that they sell as a complete set with the load equalizer. You get both the front and rear signals and the LE.....a bit of a discount and fully plug and play. I couldn't be happier with the end result and the simplicity of the install on my Road King. I'm also running a BrightAss Light BAL 3S with a run/turn/brake unit for the rear signals and the whole system runs flawlessly!
