I'm running LEDs front and rear. Can't say enough good stuff about Custom Dynamics. Their LEDs carry a lifetime warranty and customer service is great. I've ordered from them several times.
Like someone else mentioned, the equalizer from Badlands is (according to them) the only technology on the market that doesn't heat up. I know mine produces no heat.

In regards to your question it can go two ways. LED lights draw significantly less current than an standard bulb. The way standard turn signals work is if one of your bulbs is burned out the turn signal flasher senses the decrease in current draw and causes what we call hyper flash. You have seen cars on the road with a turn signal flashing faster than normal. That is hyper flash. Running LEDs will cause the same thing because of the lower current draw. Now I have run LEDs on just the rear and all was fine because the current draw was not low enough to cause this. Running LEDs in all four corners will cause hyper flash. This is when you need a load equalizer. Basically a load equalizer compensates for the low power draw of LEDs. There are several available but this is the one that I have used for years and highly recommend.
For your 2012 SG you will need a BT801M. It is completely plug n play and requires no cutting or splicing. It plugs inlineat your turn signal harness under your left side cover. And Biketronics also offers a lifetime warranty on all of their products.
Both of these can also be purchased a little cheaper than direct from East Coast Performance.
Hope this helps.
This is exactly what I did, eq. placed near battery under seat. Lifetime warranty is the way to go, HD warranty doesn't get it. CD told me the LED's are generally three times brighter, that's about right.
Only way to go, IMHO.

Hoggly
That is strictly according to them. They are apparently not aware of the Biketronics Smart Equalizer. Zero heat produced.

I'm looking to instal some LED's soon and try to learn all about them. One thing I cannot get to grips with is the load equalizers. I understand that they take up the difference in current between the normal bulb and the LED's. If it does not produce heat then where does the energy go? Nature does not waste anything so it has to go somewhere.
Sup fellas!!! I'm adding sum high end led turn signal bulbs(not the eBay specials) my question will I need load equalizers and if so where and how do I install them??? Thanks!!! Holla!!!!
