My bike came with dino oil and I continue to use it because I change my oil and filter every 2K miles. The reason for my frequent changes are I ride my bike to work, the store, and just about everywhere else I can, lots of start and sit cycles mean lots of moisture is built up in the engine and I don't like moisture in my engine. It would be cost prohibitive for me to change that often if I were to go over to Syn3. And yes I do flush it when I change the oil.

Did a forum search for 2012 valvetrain noise and found this. My recent experience has been a slight noise from the valvetrain. Since I am at the age of "half deaf" I have been trying to figure out if I was really hearing something or just picking up other noises in my 3/4 helmet. The sound is more of a mechanical noise and is consistent with RPM, kind of like solid lifter noise of the old days. I run SYN3 and wonder if this hot summer has broken down the oil some, as it wasnt noticeble when I first changed the oil @ 1,000 miles? I road almost everyday including a lot of those 105 degree days in rush hour traffic. Does SYN oil break down like dino used to if run to hot?
