Default Custom dynamics install help

Did the search gig but nothing to answer simple...

2012 flhx

Installing led front and rear and have the cd 6 pin load equalizer... Simple enough.

Also purchase 8 inch custom dynamics plasma rods to install. Want some more rear lighting.

I want to run the plasma rods as brake and turn only. Can I do this? Or does it have to be run, turn, brake?

Also, do I need anything special to make this work. Cd website is confusing on what I need to make the rods only brake and turn. Can't tell what other parts are needed if any. HD dealer I bought from today had no idea.

Let me know

You might want to consider calling CD? Their customer service is pretty helpful.

They should be able to walk you through with your project.

Should be no problem, just use a test light at the connector under the seat finding which wire controls left signal and brake and connect into it and do the same for the right side.

As stated by the 1st responder, call CD. Their techs know their stuff, know what is compatible and will guide you to CORRECT installation. Or you could use the advice from someone on the forum who still thinks everything in the owners manual is gospel.

Don't know if this will help b/c my 09 FLHX wires a tad different than your 12, but I'd say all you need to do is cut/cap/don't conect the "run" wire & then they wouldn't illuminate for this option. Mine was the "orange" wire.
