I don't disagree that the Goldwing is probably the finest touring motorcycle ever built, but if I wanted something that smooth and that quiet I would go with the sports convertable. At least in the rain I could put the top up. Harley-Davidson makes a very competent touring motorcycle. I like the fact that when I am on a (any) Harley-Davidson I am on a machine that Looks, Feels and sounds like I want a motorcycle to be. My second choice for a touring motorcycle however, would be a BMW.
