I can't recall so figured I would ask to see if anyone had a quick answer. Is there a plug anywhere under the fairing that will accept the HD Supplemental 12v Power Point???
No want to use it as an auxiliary port for GPS. Figured if it plugged right in I wouldn't have to worry about splicing one in to the current lighter wires.
I believe that power point is meant to plug in under your seat(powered up by the ACC switch on your dash), and is designed to be installed with a hole in your side covers. I had one of those on my old RK Custom, and just run it out under the seat and laid it on the frame between the seat and saddlebag and wrapped it in that foam tape that is used to put a topper on a truck to keep it from rubbing.(didn't want to drill a hole in my side cover.) As a matter of fact I still have it, plus the splitter that you can buy to give you 2 power points.
Most devices now can use some sort of USB cable for communication with your computer as well as charging it.
Wallyworld (Amazon, etc.) has this adapter. When you plug in the USB cable, you don't have to worry about the normal power adapter hitting the tank on a full left wheel turn.
There's an extra plug inside your fairing that isn't used for anything on the street glides. It has a black and red wire that go to an unused end. It's switched on and off by the ignition.
I went to the auto parts store and bought a cigarette lighter plug and just tagged those for my power and ground. Then I zip tied it to the L shaped brace and plugged my GPS in there. Been working fine since day one with no issues. Total cost was about $6.

I have one of those. I want something I can keep plugged in all the time. Just figured if there was a compatible plug under the fairing ti would make life easier. Not that lucky. Going with my original plan and just gonna wire in a lighter socket into either the existing lighter or the power point in the headlight harness.
