Default Void Warrantee?

If I remove the cat from my 2012 Ultra Limited will it void my warrantee? I would assume not since I'm seeing just about everyone on this forun has removed theirs.
Thanks

Only your dealer knows for sure.

yes, it does void your warranty.- it also put you potentially inline for "tampering".

For someone that is handy, it would be possible to take care of the bike yourself and should a warranty concern come up, restore the bike to stock condition...

If the owner has to go to the dealer for everything except putting gas in the tank, either keep it "compliant" or be ready to step up and open the wallet if the "awesome tuner" holes the piston.

It is up to the owner to consider how badly they need a warranty.

For many years, the warranty was one year. Riders would ride the bag off it in stock shape for that year. then once proven, do the mods they wanted.

1.) the 2 year factory Warranty is from the Harley-Davidson Motor Company.
(This warranty has exclusions which are spelled out)

2.) The bike is sold by a Dealer who is not H-DMC

3.) Extended Warranties are usually a 3rd company ( Not H-DMC, not the dealer, although the dealer may take a sales commission- these warranties are usually full of exclusions and weasel words)

NONE of these companies can alter any part of the other Companies agreement with you, they can only represent themselves ( the dealer cannot change the terms of the Factory Warranty)

If the dealer says "oh. it's ok as long as we do the work...get that in writing, in case you have a problem.
And consider what may happen if you are 1000 miles away from that dealer and the motor blows

This is from an email from a Pal of mine who is Sales Mgr at a large non-corporate dealership from 3/2011:

The warranty is a good idea. Putting on pipes and air cleaners is a grey area. We've read the fine print on the warranty and it says " installing certain exhaust systems MAY void your warranty", but it doesn't tell you which ones! Go down to your local HD dealer and ask them a bunch of questions. I tell my customers, if you bought the bike here and we installed the parts, we will stand behind your warranty. I guess it all depends on who you talk to!
