I tried the non-modular Schuberth and it was not as comfortable as the mod. I was surprised at the difference.

I have no experience with the sound of each, but I sure did with the comfort.

The mod was way more comfortable for me.

I think Schuberth's claim to fame is that their mod IS as quiet as the non.

Maybe someone out there who owns both can let us know?

Nolan 103 for me and the the N43 for the wife, wired with the J&M headsets. Very comfortable. Really good helmets! I like the 103, but sometimes I wish I had the N43 for a little more "openness", especially in the warmer weather. It looks like the new 104 has a bigger shield.

One more thumbs up for the Nolan N103, the wife and I both have one for the cooler months. They work great and are really comfortable for me. The new model, 104 does have a larger shield than the 103 as Stan mentioned, the review said it also has better ventilation.

The bell revolution evo with scratch pin stripes looks pretty good, I really don't want to spend over $200. Mainly will be used for cold weather .

The best advice I can give when looking for a helmet is to try a bunch on. Each manufacturer's helmet will fit a little differently and each of our heads are shaped a little differently. You gotta find the one that fits you the best.

I bought my SHOEI Multi-Tec at a bike show where I was able to try several helmets. I'm very happy with it.

I spent this summer in Cleveland where a friend of mine tried my helmet, loved it, and bought the same helmet the day after trying mine.

But again - decide which features you want, search out helmets that have those features, then try them all on. If you just go by someone elses review or opinion, you may not end up happy. And whatever you do, don't order a helmet online without having tried it on.

Finally after 26 posts 2black1s hit it. Theres dozens of helmet types out there but not all fit all types of heads. Shoei are for longer narrow types, Nolan and Arai are for round types, and so on. The more expensive they are the lighter they are. Take the suggested list here on the forum and try them on and see what floats your boat.
I had the syncrotec now have the multitec and where it all the time hot or cold. Next one I will look at the newer Shoei one (neotec?) or the schuberth.

This is what I would like to buy Shark Evoline, currently I have a HJC which is a nice helmet but a little noisey.

I wish shopping around were more practical. Most the shops around here only carry HJC and other brands down market from HJC. That and the Ducati dealer carries Aria. If you want something in-between, on-line is about the only place to go.

+1 on the Shoei Neotec. Best helmet I have ever had and the ventilation is awesome. I wear it year round on even the hottest days and stay comfortable.
