Anniversary models are played out. Every 5 years they make anniversary models. Maybe if the had the 100th and not the 95th, 105 or 110 then the 100th would be worth something. I see 03 models for sale all the time. Usually at a high price, then when no one buys them they come do to the same price as any other model.
Collector models or special edition anything are for those that can afford to keep them "as delivered." Even that is a big if'y. Might accrue in value after many years of storage and display only. If someone has the what it takes to drop cash into one, seat and have bragging rights that one is in their "collection," then maybe. I like riding mine (a lot) and couldn't stand just "admiiring it." IMHO.
I had a 100th anniversary Heritage Springer. Figured at some point they would start to appreciate in value because that was the last year manufactured. The only problem was, I came to realize that I probably wasn't going to make it to the 150th anniversary (I'd be 106) when they might be worth something so I traded it in. I will say that the Heritage Springer generally held it's value better than most of the other models. Probably the most collectable of the anniversary springers will be the gunmetal blue as only 429 of those were built.
You mean the Sam Walton of Ohio HD dealers? Screw that trio of dealers. I had enough bad service from them that I'll never spend another dime there. As for the "mark up", they have their staff trained well enough to lowball any trade-in and tell you that "it's the only one" of these we'll get or "that limited is in high demand" even though they had four of them on the floor in Dover. 3 months later they still had two of them. I seriously doubt that sob would give his mother a price break on an oil change.
end of rant.
Sorry you had a bad experience there, but there's a TON of you Canton guys in our HOG chapter cuz he treats them soooo well. Why did you travel there for service when Freedom HD is soooo close to you?

It was a last minute decision. They could get the bike in quicker for it's 5k service, Which ended up in an extra trip to Freedom to get something fixed that they "didn't catch" only 300 miles earlier.
Sorry people. Back to the anniversary models now.
The one model that I've see that I wouldn't mind having is the CVO Road Glide. That's a sharp looking bike.

Yes, they are that limited. I can't imagine who wants them though. Who buys a Harley and leaves it stock? Wouldn't you pretty much have to keep it stock for collectors value? 'Course I also don't understand those that trade their bikes constantly.
I know what you mean , I have a 105th and pondered the what ifs for customizing it. And it came down to the fact that I did like the color and the things I did to it are about the same that I would of done to any other color scheme. I just went with the 105th emblems which are pretty cool IMO and I added some chrome and changed the usual stuff out.If I could only justify laying down the 1700 bucks for the copper spoked rims I want then it would look pretty sweet .
I have a deposit down on one, I did pay sticker, freight, and a set up but was given $500 in store gift card. To each his own tho, just thought it would be cool to have one, my dealer moves more bikes than any dealer in the state, just as long as some rich dude don't come in and buy it out from under me... I believe that can happen cuz you all know cash talks, oh btw its an ultra classic limited..
We took part in a Teddy Bear run yesterday leaving from a stealership in Dover. While there I was admiring a CVO RG in the Gold/Green colors. Salesman asked if I was interested and told him no as I have the sergu and can't live without the Ultra package. Mentioned I've seen the orange and gold now, haven't seen an anniversary yet. He replied " it's $3k more than this one". I told him MoCo's website list only a $1k premium and his reply was "Dealer Markup". It's nice to see some peeps getting them for msrp.
