Anniversary Edition Bikes

Mike Davis (owns 3 local HD dealerships) was at our HOG meeting last nite and stated, "rots of ruck" gettin an anniversary edition bike. They're only building less than 1/3 the number previously built to keep the value up + most dealers will be gettin only one of each model if they're lucky.

I guess I'm not really into the anniversary editions, IMO different paint, a badge, and a number isn't really worth that much. You can make your bike custom to you and be happier, and there not be another one like it anywhere.

Interesting news. I'd imagne dealers will ask a premium over msrp for the bikes as well.

There are lots of people who will want them and it is good that they are making them more exclusive. I do not want one though. I trade bikes too often.

My local dealer charges a premium over MSRP on everything.

Just picked up a 95th anniversary model Wide Glide. It's labeled 1744/1998 on the tank panel. Would this be a limited production number?

The one bike per dealership is correct. Been hearing that for over a month already and some dealerships will be getting none. And where there are multiple color selections available, you may only get just one bike and it will be take what you get.

The dealer here said he will not add any "premiums" to the msrp.

yeah well they always say that, and going to a meeting to talk about how hard it is going to be to get one, is just a ploy to drum up interest in bikes, lets be honest.
