Got my phase 7 head light installed. Pretty impressed with it. Thinking of getting the side lamps, to boot. Do they stick out and need a trim ring like the headlight?
No, TLP7 Passing lamps did not stick out, but I went with the Frenched brow type all the way around to keep it flowing - Headlight, passing lamps, and turn signals.
And, I tell everyone, If going the TLP7 route, I urge you to do the high beam/passing light wire mod where you can have 'em all on bright when you want 'em. In the daytime, the TLP7 headlight seems to wash out on dim at certain angles, the passing lamps fill it in with the headlight on bright and makes you more visible during the day. At night on country roads the three are amazing on bright. I always ride all on full bright during the day.
Technically the both passing and high beams on at the same time are not legal in Texas - I think. But I have looked at getting that adapter cable myself. I used the real simple ring, I believe H-D part 69733-05, on my install and like it.
TL 7 passing lamps do not stick out. IMC 130 headset is essentially the same as the HD branded headset they manufacture at a fraction of the price. I use them with great success. Good installation is key
