I did a search but came up empty. Can someone tell me what this does and why it's better?

Thanks,

"It just reduces the the amount of power spikes (for lack of a better description) from the engine to the wheel. There are rubber dampers inside of it that soften the power transfer if you will."

there is no rubber in a compensator..it runs in oil and the engine pulses are dampened by heavy cup shaped spring packs and ramps its better than the early 07-11 style because the springs are stronger and the whole unit is beafier..some say its still a p.o.s..and needs more r&d
