New Clutch Cable Install - Stupid Question

I'm installed my new WO575 bars and decided to play it safe and put on a +4 clutch cable as well. Ordered a Barnett cable. On the trans side of the new cable, there a 15" long spring around the cable...the old cable doesn't have one...what is the spring for?

guessing the spring is there to keep the sleeve from kinking and binding the cable- makes it go in a gentle arc.

new torque spec for tranny end cover is 25 ft lbs.

It is to keep the heat of the engine and exhaust from melting the clearcoating......

25 ft lbs? I'm at about 15 on my beam style torque wrench and I feel like they I'm pushing it already.
