So I went to the dealer and talked to the mechanic..the rods definitely stand up on their own. Also at the top of the rods the bushing(I think that is what it is) that the piston is attached to was turned..which means the top end was not getting oil. So basically the motor will be rebuilt or I will get a reman..that will be up to the warranty company..anyone know if I can put a CVO reman directly in? Looks like it is only 900 dollars more and includes the 255 cams which I was gonna have to spend 329 to get anyway..assuming I do not have to replace the throttle body..etc
I assume your bike is a stock 96? It looks as if this is all you have to do to install a CVO 103":
(Factory 103 and 96 to 103 upgrades)
Includes ACR (Automatic Compression Release). When upgrading an Original Equipment TC96 model to a TC103 displacement, separate purchase and installation of a model-specific Screamin' EagleŽ ACR Wire Harness and recalibration of the ECM is required.
That adds a little extra expense, but it would be difficult to resist, if you can get a sensible deal under your warranty.

What happened....did it just lose oil pressure on you or did it just crap out
Funny how it started..recently I started seeing oil blow down the right side..I noticed it while my neighbor was here. He looks at it and says he noticed a rocker box leak. There is one but i think most of the oil was coming from the air cleaner. Well while they checking things..I forgot the test...but it basically acted as if it was losing compression or not sealed well..so they called me to ask if they called tear into the top end..I said yeah it's under warranty..so when they did that they saw the rods in this state. I think the test was showing negative because the cylinders are now oval inside because the pistons have been wobbling around in there..you will have to excuse my ignorance..but the bike was running fine to me..I drove it over there when I dropped it off.
Wow sorry to hear that even if its under warrenty crap like that always ends in the MoCo's favor.....it would be the standup thing for the to just repalce the whole eng but. well when will you know what they are going to do?
Just a peice of advice. IF they decide to repair your engine, ensure that they replace every bearing and bushing inside the engine and document it. because if it fails again you want them to be aware "they repalce everythiing"
