I'm trying to decide whether or not to do the fuelmoto 107 or just do head work and cams to my 96?
My bike dynoed 82hp, and 92 tq with the heavy breather and a super trap 2 into 1 will there be enough power increase for the extra money? If so how much power diifernce would there be?
Andi have searched and searched and got mixed reviews.. seen some 96s making as much power as 103 and 107s thanks for the help.
IF you are doing headwork- the cost is in the labor.
bigger pistons, bored cylinders & a couple of gaskets will add little to the overall cost ( as a percentage) so this would be the time to do it.
as for "as much power" is that all across the board or "peak power"- it is possible to build a motor so that it makes amazing peak numbers at 5500 rpms ...but is poor at 3000 rpms. so the question needs to be
"where does it produce power"
"what rpms does the rider use most"
lots and lots of really fast machines are not "quick"--- it takes them longer to get up to speed

I am doing right now the upgrade for my 88 TC. Head work, big bore, Andrews 48N. I had several and long conversations about the head work and decided to go for it. I can tell you in a week or so how it feels. Btw, I hope that I can then follow my wife better on her BMW.
Once the heads are off, it's only a few more bolts to pull the cylinders. I was in the same quandry a couple years ago. Although I didn't go 107", I found some new SE 103" pistons on ebay for $115 and had my cylinders bored/honed locally for $125. It was $240 well spent. If you stay at 96" and you're right, some 96" run damn good, at least use a .030 head gasket to bump compression a bit and pick your cam wisely ...
I went a little much with S&S doing the whole top end, cams, rollers, rods , heads etc but am I happy with it? Yes definitely. Plenty of power. For now.
If ya gonna do cams and headwork, ya are gonna need a compression increase and compression releases to take advantage of them. Best way is to match HC pistons with heads and the bore is just gravy at that point. If all that is worth your dollars I can't answer but imho headwork is useless without the rest of it. For me, headwork was too many $ on my mild 103 build. Runs good enough for me.
