well had the bike dyno tuned & went straight up to street vibs from sacramento after i picked it up. put the tour pack on & loaded it up. so on the way up (wife was on with me) i got 39mpg a lot better than what i thought i was going to be getting & that was pretty much all up hill & cruising at 80mph. but thats not the best part, the heat that was cooking my leg is GONE. very happy with the results & wish i did it sooner.
also got rid of 99% of decell pop.

SERT tuner, RUSH 3.5" slip ons with 2.5" cores, K&N filter with an opened up stock football cleaner. OHH ya & the kitty cat removed.

Nice to have things dialed in, makes for more smiles per mile.

My CVO S/E Ultra goes in on Thursday for Rinehart XT Duals, SERT and dyno.
I had hoped that I would have 1,000 miles on it but with the weather forecast, I'm not sure if that will bepossible.

That heat can kill an engine and it's not so healthy for a human either!

Last winter I did a cam job, SEST, and dyno run on my 2009 SG. After the dyno run, the engine heat and especially the right side heat is significantly lower compared to before the dyno. The oil cooler does help reduce the heat. The fuel mileage dropped from 42-44 mpg to 38.5-39.5 mpg.

when the wife & i would ride two up & not loaded down but still had the tour pack on i could get as much as 52mpg, & that was little to no hills & light throttle response also keeping it under 70mph. not to bad for a 1,000+lb bike. but was definitely not good on the engine.
so far im really happy with the tune but ive only put about 350 miles on it so far. will see what kinda mileage we get when we head down to vegas.

My bike gets 50 mpg on the highway. 106,tw6-6 cams, oil cooler,pro-pipe,pcv,ported heads with a rougher finish on the intake port for better fuel atomization and shaved for compression.
I've got 107hp/115tq on a conservative run forever tune. My tuner said he could squeeze another 10-15hp and tq out of it but it would be riding the ragged edge.
The great thing about fuel injection is that the ecu senses throttle position as well as rpms so once your cruising down the highway it can run leaner to help mileage and heat is a non issue because the bike is at highway speeds.
Try that kind of fine tuning with a carb'd dinosaur.

OK, you are talking what I want to hear. I have a 2012 CVO Ultra that is HOT, just cooks your leg and miserable on the passenger...I understand removing the cat, changing the mufflers, and having the bike tuned....but I hate acronyms....what the heck is "SERT" ....a make model of tuner or what? I hate to confess ignorance, but it is worse to not ask and remain ignorant.

no problem...
a SERT is harleys SCREAMIN EAGLE RACE TUNER

i went with that because i know i will be doing cams some day & with this i can retune as much as i want to verses some of the others that just plug into the 02 sensors to fool the ecm & give it more fuel. witch there is nothing wrong with those.

Screamin' Eagle Race Tuner. I'm sure you've heard of a Power Commander...SERT is basically HDs version. They do have their differences, but the purpose they serve is the same.

OK, if you go the SERT route, can you, the individual rider remap the variables or are you required to take it to a dealer to have it dynoed for maximum performance?

What are the advantages of going this route over something like the TTS Mastertune that you have total control over?

Just trying to educate myself guys...bear with me..thanks.
