2011 RKC Engine oil leak

2011 RKC Engine oil leak

Just had dealer change oil and look for oil leak around engine oil filter housing. They changed oil pump cover gasket ( as they called it) and said good to go. Not so fast as it still leaks. Any ideas as I am going to drop it off again so they can try and fix it. You have to stay a step ahead of these dealers or they will keep your bike for days. Been there done that.

Usually you can see where it's seeping from. Clean everything up real good, and then run it.
There's a possibility that they screwed up the gasket install too.

what does the oil look like?? motor oil is usually dirty looking...run you hand along the bottom of the motor frame etc...trans oil is clean looking...the lower 2 bolts of the side trans cover often come loose, so check those.....also I believe there is a oil pressure sending unit near the oil filter..check that...

do they put Oil cooler on RKC if so look again the gasket for the oil cooler adapter does leak some times and is a pain to figure out

I had an oil cooler gasket leak on my 12 RKC, they said they see them a lot, not sure if the 11 had the stock cooler?

11 has the cooler. Good to know about that issue for future reference.

Yeah, I had a 1 drip/day leak, thought I'd be good til I got back from Sturgis. When my cruise switch went out near Mankato, MN on my way to Sturgis, I had them fix it up, thats when they said they've seen a few of them. Havent had a drop since.
