Go easy on the Dihydrogen Monoxide -it's bad for environment, lol! http://www.dhmo.org/
Due in part to its widespread use in industry, Dihydrogen Monoxide (DHMO) is involved in many environmental incidents each year. While most are unavoidable given current technology, there can be little doubt that the presence of DHMO in each significantly increases the negative impact to the environment.
I had forgotten about this. Penn & Teller did a short video where they were asking people to sign a petition banning DHMO as it causes billions in damage yearly. People were signing left and right. It was hilarious! Do a youtube search on DHMO....
Had a half-dozen or so love bugs (not in full bloom yet) plus 3 or 4 major gut splatters here and there after a ride today. Did the peroxide deal using a damp mF cloth.
Sprayed the peroxide on the crud, left it alone for 15 seconds or so, and gently wiped with the damp mF cloth - ZAP... GONE as in POOF. Little black bodies, wings, and chit on the cloth but nothing left on the scoot. Couldn't even see where anything had been done - just the crud was gone.
Yup, started this year with peroxide. Fifty % mix sprayed on followed by a hot soapy wipe. Really good results. Like most of us, the less rubbing the better on the whole bike.
Try it for the first time today to help remove bugs i had acquired on my 800 mile trip to Eureka Springs, AR and all I can say is WOW! It works crazy good.
Yep, works good. Strong peroxide, like the stuff you use to whiten your teeth or industrial strength will have a chemical reaction with metal if left on long enough. What you buy in a bottle is much weaker stuff, only 2 or 3%, but still you should make sure you get it all off. I use it on the bugs then I use pledge, maybe bug slide or something similar for the shine and to take off any residue peroxide. It's a good combination. By the way bug slide by its self works well for taking bugs off, but it is very expensive and it takes much less of it if all you want is the shine it gives.
