+1. Whenever I've gotten it I slapped myself up side a 'da head for letting tire pressure go down.

BTW ZG, cool avitar but you REALLY need to clean that puppy more often.

I hear the same sound in light curves with proper inflation. I think the material of the original tire should be called "rubber composite" because it feels and looks like plastic. BTW I discovered a one inch long crack between the side ribs without any trace of perforation or local deterioration on the surface of the tire.

Same bike with same miles and mine is doing the same thing.
Just the tires. Ride on.

thanks guys, I've always wondered what that noise was. heard it on the fatboy and hear it on my 12 SG. I always thought it was the different loading on the bearing when leaning the bike over, but the tire thing makes sense. again, thanks. now I know.

+1 on that. Loud and annoying with only a slight lean. Good tires but they will sing a tune.

I must have adjusted my belt tension 6-7 times before I realized it was the tires. The slightest lean left or right produces the hum. Like a woo, woo, woo, woo, sound.

Great, thanks ya'll for the responses which is 100% tire noise. It was driving me nuts coming home from Reno with the OL on the back. I had the tires inflated properly b4 the trip so it must be some cupping.
On a side note, anyone know how to change my HDF name? I've switched from a heritage to a SG. I've pinged the forum masters several times with no response.
Thanks again.

My woo, woo, woo, woo sound was something entirely different. I found that the shop that changed my rear tire, did not properly reinstall my drive sprocket. It was not oriented back in the original position it came off, and the bolts were not torqued correctly. I pulled it off, cleaned up both mating surfaces, repositioned, and torqued, no more woo, woo. Worth a try.

I have noticed it too, not too bad but I know it's there. My inflation has always been spot on. In my case, I think it may be related to the tri compound Dunlop uses in my rear tire not all wearing down the same.
I file it under "Noted", and I plan to keep watch and keep rollin'.
