I've got 5 scooters and I can never find time to ride all of them ... as others have said before me, make a choice and live with it ... each of the models does one thing better ( or worse ) than a different model ... but ... after a few thousand miles I'm pretty confident you'll feel "right at home" with which ever model you choose ...BTW, the Street Glide is a great platform and upgrades are abundant .... Just my .02 cents worth Brother.

Traded my sporty in on my 12 street glide no regrets. Plus insurance on two bikes at my age would kill me. But as far as comfort and riding like I like I do it's the best choice for me

i bought an Electra Glide Classic, i kept my shovelhead. figured i would have a choice of what to ride.. the shovelhead ended up sitting. i spent a lot more time cleaning the dust off the shovel and only rode it once a month if i was lucky. it sat on a stand for a couple years with the tins half off.
a second bike makes a great project, but you probably wont ride it much

Is the Dyna your first bike? I ask because you say you were 18 when you bought it. Nice choice for someone that age btw. Anyway, where I'm going with this is that a lot of guys wish they still had their 1st bike. The Dyna is a good one and 20 years from now you can have some nice bragging rights.

I have an Ultra and for me it was the only choice because it was purchased for long tours. I have no problem with it around town tho. Think about motor cops - some basically ride the same thing day in day out in all kinds of crap. It's nice to have the bags to toss stuff in too. We often do light grocery shopping on mine.

All that said, the Ultra is a lot less nimble than your Dyna. You will feel like you're playing with a lot more weight.

I just went through the same dilemna as you. I bought a 2013 SG and I have a 2008 Fatbob. The Fatbob is sitting at the HD Dealer now for sale on consignment. Dealer gets only 5% when it sells. He has it priced at $12995 so I will end up with more than I was planning on asking if I sold it myself. He tells me he will sell it with no problem because they can easily finance it for someone. I am already looking at finding me a Sportster or something because I want a "Bobber/Bar Hopper". The second bike I plan to do most of the wrenching on myself and leave the SG wrenching to the more knowledgable mechanics.

Just a warning, once you go with a touring bike you can never go back. We have a Dyna and a Softail. I can't wait to get back on my EG.

Every time I've purchased a new (or another) bike I've kept the one that I had only to sell it in a couple of months because it was just sitting there collecting dust. I can honestly say that from now on I will just sell/trade in my current bike and replace it..... my 2 cents.

If there is sentimental value you may want to keep it.
Also, if you like to hot rod a little that Dyna may get some time in the rotation.
If you ride like a typical biker the Dyna should probably go.

Which options are you wanting the SG didn't have?

Having two bikes is great. I added a 2010 RG last year and for me it is the perfect compliment to my FXDL.

I had a dealer loan me an Ultra Classic for a week, ended up buying the same but a few years older, after getting caught in the rain twice and colder weather here in the mid-west, it was an easy decision.
