Powder Coating chrome slip ons
I just put the black V&H Dresser duals on and love how they look. My question is this, I have the chrome, what I believe to me oval slip-ons, as was wondering if I can just have them powder coated instead of buying a whole new set of slip ons?
I'm assuming (from the photos) that when you powder coat chrome it turns out smoother/shinier. Those are the nicest powder coated pieces I've ever seen. Good job!
the base (chrome, bare, powder) does not matter, we do a chemical strip then blast, then coat the parts... chem strip lets us use a less agressive media so that we can get the smoothest possible finish.

Cool,
I was gonna chime in and say "there is a dude in the Dyna section of the forum from Chicago, who's name is Joe, and can powder coat most anything from what I recall" from my Dyna days......
For OP - I'd recommend coating the entire exhaust to match, if you plan to go black. This way you have everything refreshed/coated at the same time & equal color(s). Coating of any type (powder or ceramic) is a nice inexpensive route to take. I ceramic coated my old FLHX exhaust for $160, but it was a local coater so shipping was the $5 gas to drive there/back. JRK is a fantastic coater so he'd be my recommendation, if you plan to ship parts off for coating. Otherwise find a local coater & get some estimates & look @ their work.
