OE battery lasted 4 yrs. Replaced with HD Battery that is currently still going. I use a tender when it's parked in the garage. I sure hope I haven't jinxed it.
My 09 lasted two years also but my 2001 made it ten years and I sold it with that battery and gave the guy money back for a new one So who knows how long on the 01.
I try to keep the batteries in our "road" bikes under three years old and I rotate the older batteries to the bikes (or generator) that aren't used very much.
Battery life (IMO) can be extended if they're plugged into a battery tender when not in use.
Batteries that are allowed to fully discharge usually don't last very long
I have an '03 RK (made in '02) that still has the OEM battery and it starts like a new bike as i should because it has less than 300 miles on it, butit has been on a battery tender since day one.
Batteries, like electrical equipment usually have a short life span in hotter climates.
the one in my '10 road king died last month - just less than 3 years old. I admit it - I let it go completely dead last winter, so that didn't help matters.
