Default H-D CNC ported heads

Has anyone tried the H-D CNC ported heads (P/N 16500013a) out of the SE catalog? I am looking for something with more flow to use with my SE stage 2 103 pistons.

Thanks,
mikebaby

I would suggest speaking with a few different engine builders. You can get more bang for your buck with one of them doing your stock heads then what Harley is offering.

These are few as a suggestion to speak with to find what your best combination would be for what your trying to gain with your engine

Those Harley CNC heads worked real well for me along with some 255 cams on my Fatboy before I got the new bike . You can always sell your stock heads, 200 bucks or so and wait for a 15% off on the CNC heads . I was real happy with them .

Are them the ones that you exchange your heads for?If they are I used them not bad heads but I think you'd be better off doin your research and finding a good porter and puttin bigger valves in yours and having them reworked for your set up.I ended up havin mine reworked and bigger valves put in.

You already have a set of heads and I would guess following Trike's suggestion will be cheaper, plus you will get hand finished ports and probably even better performance.

A reputable shop can port your heads for your combination and out perform any out of the box jobs. Probably for alot less also.

They work ok got a set went they frist came out, but got them before the price went up and you had send your old heads back in. For what they want for them now send your heads to be worked on and get more bang for the buck.

I picked up a couple of sets for 625 a pair last year. Kept one set and sold the other. They were a great deal at that price, I kept my stock heads for another build down the road, but I could have sold them to recoup some of the cost. I wouldn't have paid a grand for the heads, but for what I got them for, they were a very good value. They're done at Wegner for the moco, the work is high quality, and consistant. I wonder if many of the guys putting them down have ever even seen them up close.

If you pay to have your heads worked over, be careful to use a porter with a good reputation. There's no standard for what constitutes "stage I/II/III" or "level A/B" etc. I've seen a so called "street port" that was nothing more than a 3 angle valve job, and a quick polish of the combustion chamber and exhaust port. No real porting of any consequence, and not worth the 425 bucks the shop was charging, imo. Make sure you're very clear on what work you're getting, and shop around.

I got mine originally for 695.00 thought the quality was first rate also from the MOCO. Noticed a performace increase and the torque curve on the dyno plus 4 extra HP made me real happy . You are right about others bashing what they have not looked at or tried .
Thinking of getting them for my 2010 limited with a set of cams . Also I do not believe you have to send in your old heads , these are an outright purchase.
