I had true duals on my 107" Evo and eventually changed to a 2-into-1, had both set-ups dynoed by the same shop. The benefits were quite a surprise. TDs tend to get into their stride in the upper rev range, while the 2-into-1 is strong right through. I get around 15% more torque in the low/mid range, where I do most of my riding, compared with the TDs.
I was very happy with my TDs, sound and performance wise, but am even happier with my bike now. As a bonus it is smoother running and makes for a much sweeter ride.
So by all means go with TDs, after all our bikes are hardly lacking performance, but I am a convert to the benefits of a 2-into-1. There's no turning back!
