has anyone personally ever been denied a repair from HD because they did pipes and a tuner.... thats it.. Anyone?? Personally??
really on fence and cost of one tire is not justifying the ESP
I dont ever buy those things...ever. Bad value. Put the money in your own bank account and use for repairs. I saved thousands over the years NOT buying them.
My local HD dealer gives free service clinics once a quarter. Every clinic they say using an aftermarket tuner is a risk. When they make a call to HD for a warranty one of the first questions they ask if there is an aftermarket tuner involved. They have seen claims denied due to the aftermarket tuner.
I'm not a big fan of ESP's. I bought an Ford ESP when I bought my used Ford Diesel. The oil cooler became clogged, no problem right, took it in, not covered:-( Calls to Ford, the dealer who sold it, resulted in same outcome, "Tough luck." $1,300:-(
I just got my 2010 Street Glide back from dealer. Bearings in Tranny failed. ESP paid $900 for the repair. I've also used my tire warranty to replace rear tire with screw in it. My out of pocket $50. I was worried they were going to ask for service receipts but nope they approved and its good as new. My only complaint, the dealer won't give me the loyalty points when the warranty company pays for the repair. Should'nt matter who pays the bill as long as it's not the MOCO then I should get the loyalty $$. After all I paid for the warranty...

You prepaid the repair bills with the extended warranty. The majority never get their money back. I have saved tens of thousands of dollars during my lifetime by not buying extended warranties but if people feel comfortable buying extended warranties that's fine by me.

did you do any work to the bike ,IE Pipes, Tuner, Air Cleaner>>>?
Any time you do something they have to prove it caused the failure-the burden is on the dealer. Call MoCo customer service and that is what they will tell you. For instance, if you remove the center disc on your baffles with a hole saw and have a problem or breakage, you only voided your mufflers warranty not the whole bike. And to reiterate-they have to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt taking the center discs out of the pipes caused a problem. If using any tuner is a risk then why even by the SE tuner or any other for that matter? Customer service is non-existant in most businesses any more. Used to be that car or motorcycle, appliance dealers...everybody used to care about that to keep your business. Now it does seem that noone really cares any longer in this throw-away society.
