Trouble with detachable back rest/sissy bar

When installing the backrest and rack you can see where the front prongs are and tap them over the spacers.
Things get worse when you install the TourPak coming from the rear because you can't see what you're doing. Now I put the TourPak over the seat, tilted forward, then I insert the two front mounting points and rotate around them to catch the rear points. The seat carries the weight of the TourPak when I align everything and I don't damage the lateral plastic spacers.
