02 Road King - 2 into 1 replacement for Thunderheader
Hello All,
I just purchased a 2002 Road King Classic with a Stage II upgrade. The bike runs great but the exhaust is too loud for me. I do believe I have identified the exhaust to be a Thunderheader system. I don't want to affect the performance but I do want to quiet the bike down.
What about the Vance and Hines 2 into 1 Pro Pipe?
Any recommendations for a 2 into 1 system would be appreciated!

Just made that swap last week on my 05 EG. Totally different bike now.
It's very nice, smooth power and almost too refined.
The sound and feel of the TH is what most identify with a HARLEY,
but it was a bit much for me just commuting, didn't want to try a trip.
I got the VH pro and really like the difference in the bike. It now has a tight smooth rev, verses a hard hitting tractor pulse of the TH. The VH pro is almost too quiet in the city. Car don't hear you coming like the TH.
I have a Supertrapp 2:1 pipe on my '02 Road King & really like it. Sound level of the Supertrapp is adjustable with the additionbor removal of discs (which also changes the performance); it also looks pretty unique with a closed end cap.
I have heard very good things about Drago's Dragula pipe, though I have no experience with it. Supposed to be a very well made, good performing pipe at a decent price.
What you described is what I want so I will go for the V&H 2 into 1 Pro's! Do you have the quiet baffle or running them stock?
Here are photos of what I believe are Thunderheaders? Note I cleaned and polished the bike tonight as I just got her home this afternoon. I didn't notice when I first looked over the bike that the rear header heat shield is crumpled and the heat shield by the floor board is dulled.
I don't know why I would keep them so once I have the V&H's I will sell them? I was already PM'd by another member 525tom but if that does not work out I will let you know.

If you plan onsticking with a 2-1 try Dragos Bike Works Dragula. Its a 2-1 performance head pipe with superior design and build over the Thunderheader. Ceramic coated inside and out and stainless steel headpipe with chrome or black shields. I had one on my SG before I switched to True Duals. If you go the Dragula route get the 2.55 baffle as its much quieter than the Thunderheader, but still barks when you get on it. Frank Drago is great to deal with as well.
