The leather bags on the road king classic are nice in my opinion.
A transition or option to rims that look kinda/sorta like spokes and are tubeless would maintain the antique look.
Then buy a standard Road King and leave the Classics to us. I don't like plastic--fairings or bags. I would definitely keep the leather bags. They make the standard for you guys.
If you replace the leather bags with the standard bags you have a standard. I would not mind a large soft leather bag. But then you are closing in on a softail look. I have been considering picking up a set, however.
When I bought a TP I went with a standard TP rather than a Classic leather covered. I am not wild about the look of the Classic TP.
Hard bags and no spokes. What an idea.
Only reason I bought the Classic over the Std was for the 103 and ABS. 103 was only available on the Classic in 2011.
White walls drove me crazy and you get a flat in a tube, your ride is over.
