Progressive Monotubes for the front makes for a nice set-up.
Exactly!
I've put about 6k on my Ohlins since I got them from Howard earlier in the year. My only regret is not doing the Ohlins and Monotubes within 24 hours of buying the bike!
For those of you who wanted to see a pic.....hope this helps I did go back today and had them soften them up a little, but not so much that it affects the much improved handling I now have. Seems to have worked.
I have the Ohlin#2-#3s from Howard and Monotubes up front. Does not even compare to stock suspension. Totally satisfied with bike handling ,comfort and control. The only thing is, I am sometimes wondering what i am missing, in not having the damping adjustments available with the #3 series shocks. I would have spent the little extra money up front if I could do it again.

Yea I hear ya, but that difference at the Ohlins booth was $900 from $600 and I just couldnt afford going that high. The adjustment capabilities these have are enought for me...I'm not a "tweeker"...and I am very happy with the ride quality. I don't regret going the route I went.
What are you guys doing for the forks? Does Ohlins make a cartridge?
Yes they make a cartridge, but they won't fit our stock forks. Howard is working on a solution, which will use 49mm Harley forks. He already has them working on Dynas and seems to be making good progress for us Touring owners, which will involve custom built trees.

Howard Messner is proprietor of HDF sponsor Motorcycle Metal and a Harley suspension guru. He is an Ohlins specialist and custom builds them for each customer. He even has been known to give discounts to HDF members, so it is well worth being nice to him!
glad to here the Ohlins worked out for you , my only suggestion would have been to call Howard , he has his shop phone forwarded to his cell phone and is always at bikeweek and biketoberfest and would have given you a much better price than you paid , I stopped by and saw him and he had about 15 pair of Ohlins and 25 pair of JRI on hand , I had him build me a set of JRI at his hotel , I will post pictures of Howard hard at work and do a review between my Ohlins #3-#3 and my new JRI's shortly , enjoy them and ride safe
