Default Another Ohlins Convert

I'm at Biketoberfest here in Daytona and decided that the one mod I was going to do here was improve my ride quality a bit over those wonderful stock HD shocks. After going to the different vendors and doing research here I decided to go with Ohlins...they have a factory vendor booth set up at Rossmeyers. The guys worked with me to get the proper set-up and took the shocks out of the box and into their mobile shop to build them correctly for me. I've been riding them for a day now and can definitely tell the difference. Only problem now is I want the front fork to feel as good as the rear suspension does! I can see more $$ spent in my future. The Ohlins guys told me to ride the bike for a couple of days and come back and let them know if I wanted them to tweek the setting at all. I think I may have them soften it up just a hair, but other than that they've been great.

Oh and I did mention that I've read many posts here about Howard at Motorcycle Metal and how well he seems to know his stuff. Mentioning Howard got a bit of a smile and chuckle from the factory guys but they had nothing but good things to say about him. Said they've been working with him for years and he is a true expert who cares about customer satisfaction.

From what I've experienced so far I can definitely recommend Ohlins to those of you looking to upgrade your rear suspension.

On Howard's website I believe they are the 2-2 model. Ohlins website lists them as 36mm emulsion type monotube shocks. I will take a picture tomorrow with my saddlebags off if I get back to their booth to have them adjusted.

Got mine about a month ago, quite amazing there could be that difference in ride quality. Still playing with them and yes make the front well sort of lacking does'nt it.

Progressive Monotubes for the front makes for a nice set-up.
