2012 RK turn the ignition on push run button light goes out will not start till I turn the ignition off then back on. The battery is good. It happened today, last weekend and once this summer. Any ideas? Im going to start using the other key fob, an see if it happens again.
Had something similar happen to me last week. My fuel pump was also not kicking on and when it did start it was idling really high. Three problems at once. Next time you try to start it listen to see if your fuel pump kicks in. If it doesn't try to reset the TBW.
Turn the RUN switch to RUN, do not touch the throttle.
Turn on the IGNITION SWITCH, wait for the CEL to turn OFF.
Turn off the ignition only, wait for 10 seconds and repeat this sequence 3 more times.
That will reset it. Worth a shot.

Start with the most basic issue of all Harleys ... loose, corroded battery connections. Yes even on a new bike. They're shipped with the battery disconnected and have to be set up by the dealer. Lots of variables involved.
Next issue might be the actual ignition switch from what you've told us.
I'll bet it's under warranty. After I checked the battery and if I still had issues I'd let the dealer look at it and take care of it.
It's hard to properly diagnose issues on the board.
