We owe a lot to those veterans. Hell we owe a lot to all veterans. Past, Present, and Future. Always remember including active duty, national guard and reserves, the population of Americans in uniform is 2,317,761, meaning that less than 1 percent, .75 percent to be exact, of the country's population is a member of the military.

Awesome story. They are indeed getting scarce. Average WWII Veteran age is 87, here in Canada. Don't image there is much difference in the USA.
Not trying to hijack this thread or pad myself on the back. Just want to through it out there to get people thinking and maybe joining a similar group in your area.
I got involved with a Group that supports Veterans. They had a clip on the local news last week, showing a 89 year old vet's living conditions. His roof is leaking and water running down the inside walls in his house. Caught my attention and contacted a group that is asking for donations and physical help fixing this guys house. I joined the cause. Bothers me to see that anybody, especially a Vet that put himself in harms way and went through hell has to live that way. Any Canadian interested in helping out a little, here is the link. http://www.friendsofveterans.ca/
