Default sirius question

i have an 07 flht and would like to install an xm or sirius radio....is there such a thing as a stand alone satellite radio that will mount in my bike?....i dont want to buy a cd player and standard radio, that i will never use...it seems that every xm radio system i have seen requires that you already have an fm radio or the like.....

Ive installed 2 XM satalite radios on a roadking & a softail last month---they did use the radios with amplifier & speaker system from TWO-WHEEL-TUNES. It turned out to be a great sounding system neither bike had a stereo to begin with. SO I say yes you can buy just a satalite radio. I almost recall it being a XM ROADY???? or something like that. GOOD LUCK

I believe you can use any of those same radios but you need either a speaker system or earphones to plug into them. Most of them have an output jack. If you have intercom, it could plug into that also.

I agree with HogmanFLHX---You can just use the Radio by itself, just use headphones! (DUH)Great idea HogmanFLHX.

They do make XM radios by themselves. Try surfing the web (I was looking at some today). Also Biketronics might be helpful in their "retro radio" kits. Happy shopping!

sirius "stilleto" is like a walk man carry it with you plug in your headphones, and go. plus sirius is leaps and bounds better than xm if your still shopping. i have 3 sirius units and i know about a dozen that have swithched from xm to sirius in the past year...most of the are people with chevy vehicles that have xm installed from the factory! they all say xm is irritating to listen to with their commercials ( ihave never had xm so thats just what i here) plus if like roundie round racing (nascar) sirius is supposed to have a killer set-up for that this year like 10 channels dedicated during a race for in car listening.

I had XM Rhoady and it was alright. But due to the fees I went to Sirus @ $499. lifetime rather than every year renewals that will increase.
I am very happy with the switch.. I have the Rhoady and a never used home unit up for grabs make offer.

I have Sirius in my Jeep and on my bike, I think the play lists are better and if you noticed some of the bigger names are moving to Sirius like NASCAR

You can go to both of the web sites and get a free listen and preview on your computer and make your own choice

Yes, to the left in picture, also trust me go with the Sirius. oh sorry thought you had a radio already on bike, after rereading this, why would you listen to a Sirius but never listen to a CD or radio??, also keep in mind the HD radio also has the weather bands which comes in handy, you might want to rethink not having a radio, good luck on your search.
